Community Information:

Anchorage Alaska is one of the most livable cities in the U.S.
Clean and vibrant, Anchorage offers both adventure and beauty.
As the largest city in the state, with 275,043 residents, Anchorage
comprises more than two-fifths of the entire state's total population. Located
in South Central Alaska, Anchorage sits at the base of the Chugach
Mountains along the coast of Cook Inlet, which is the northernmost
reach of the Pacific Ocean. The summers are cool (averaging 55
to 78 degrees Fahrenheit) and the winter average temperatures
are in fact warmer than many places in the continental U.S.

Anchorage is a major port, receiving 95% of all freight entering
Alaska. Major industries include government, petroleum and tourism.
Nearly all Alaska-bound tourists pass through Anchorage during
some stage of their journey. The Ted Stevens Anchorage Airport
(6 miles from downtown Anchorage) is the airline hub for the state,
serving many national flights (including Seattle-based Alaska
Airlines) and also a number of international flights.

Anchorage offers four higher-education facilities - the University
of Alaska at Anchorage, Alaska Pacific University, Charter College
and Wayland Baptist University.

The Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, located next to Town
Square Park in downtown Anchorage, hosts numerous performances
each year. The Sullivan Arena is home to the Alaska Aces (East
Coast Hockey League) and beginning this April, arena football
will debut in Anchorage with the Alaska Wild. If you are the
sports enthusiast who seeks adventure, you will certainly enjoy
our network of hiking, biking, skiing and dog-mushing trails (259
miles).

All this and no sales tax in Anchorage.

Once you visit, you'll want to make this city known as "The City
of Lights and Flowers" your new home!
