Job Description:

Reading Hospital and Medical Center seeks an Internist to join
its 8-person Internal Medicine Residency Faculty. This position
will be primarily ambulatory. An outline of the duties is noted

The Reading Hospital and Medical Center is a not-for-profit healthcare
center providing comprehensive acute care, post-acute rehabilitation,
behavioral, and occupational health services to the people of
Berks and adjoining counties. Established as The Reading Dispensary

care for this region of Pennsylvania.

The 800-bed West Reading facility in scenic Berks County consists
of a 20-building complex located on a 36-acre suburban campus.

Medical Staff exceeds 600 physicians in 48 clinical specialties.

Teaching (35 % time)
-Supervise and teach medical students and residents
-Supervise residents in ambulatory, continuity clinic (Hospital
A-4 Clinic)
-Faculty ambulatory practice supervision and teaching of residents
and medical students
-Participate in ambulatory medicine curriculum development and/or
modifications
-Supervise resident quality improvement project
-Didactic lectures and conferences

Clinical Care (35 % time)
-Combined with teaching responsibilities
Attending office practice with electronic medical record
Resident and medical student supervision in private practice setting -Resident
supervision in resident continuity ambulatory clinic
-Inpatient teaching service rotation(s) negotiable
-Attending call schedule (covering inpatient and outpatients)
for nights and weekends, averages 1:7

Research (15% time, variable dependent on responsibilities)

-Mentoring of residents
-Provide direction for hospital-based resident medicine clinic -Weekly
