Job Description:
The Department of Radiology at NorthShore University HealthSystem, a major teaching affiliate of University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, seeks fellowship-trained radiologists for a position in the Breast Imaging Section. Expertise in all aspects of breast imaging including mammography, ultrasound, stereotactic/ultrasound biopsy, ductography, and breast localization is required. An interest in breast MRI is required. Opportunities exist for practice in other areas of radiology, as well as academic endeavors. Staff radiologists are eligible for academic appointment with the University of Chicago. Equipment includes three stereotactic tables, modern ultrasound units, and high field MRI with breast coil. Our centers also offer genetic counseling, dedicated breast care nurses, and psychological services. A new radiology research facility has 1.5 Tesla and 3.0 Tesla whole body MR systems, as well as extensive support space. We work closely with a group of physicians interested in the most current methods of diagnosis and treatment, and discuss our cases weekly at a multi-disciplinary breast conference. The Radiology Department performs approximately 400,000 exams and more than 60,000 breast imaging procedures annually.
