Job Description:

Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC) and its affiliated
Faculty Plan are seeking a Head of the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal
Medicine of the Department of Pediatrics of the University of
Connecticut School of Medicine and Medical Director of the Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit of the John Dempsey Hospital o f the University
of Connecticut Health Center.

In this position, you will be responsible for the performance,
growth, reputation, and success of the multi-site academic Division
and the John Dempsey Hospital Newborn Intensive Care Unit. Additionally,
you will support and guide the clinical, educational, research,
and community service programs of the Division, and, in particular,
strengthen the Division as a leader in neonatal-perinatal research
through high quality basic, translational, and clinical research
programs that enable the Division and its four member institutions
to achieve their mission, vision, values and goals. The incumbent
will collaborate with John Dempsey administration and nursing
leadership and be responsible for the performance and success
of the JDH NICU. Position reports to the Chair of the Department
of Pediatrics of the UCSOM/Physician-in-Chief of Connecticut Children's
Medical Center (CCMC).

Interested candidates should have certification in Neonatal-Perinatal
Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics with demonstrated
leadership skills in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and a proven
record in clinical, educational, and research excellence.

The JDH NICU is a 50 bed facility for preterm and term infants
with health conditions requiring comprehensive evaluation and
treatment. Since 1975, the JDH Newborn Intensive Care Nurseries
have cared for more than 12,000 babies and was the first neonatal
program to serve the northern and central regions of Connecticut. Connecticut
Children's Medical Center is a 135 bed, free-standing children's
hospital with a 32 bed NICU. CCMC maintains a Division of Research,
a research center and serves as a satellite for the General Clinical
Research Center for the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
Additionally, it is the home of the University of Connecticut
School of Medicine residency program in pediatrics and pediatric
surgical specialties.

In this position you will be eligible for appointment at a senior
rank at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. A comprehensive
