Job Description:

Reading Hospital and Medical Center seeks a Board Certified Neurologist
with subspecialty training and experience in one of the following
disciplines: clinical neurophysiology, neuromuscular medicine,
vascular neurology, pain medicine, or sleep medicine with an ability
to vision, develop and implement a multi- disciplinary neuroscience
service line in collaboration with other disciplines. The successful
candidate will expand the general Neurology section to incorporate
neurologic subspecialty expertise in to the community, develop
and implement curriculum for Internal Medicine and Family Medicine
Residency programs and create a focus and direction for clinical
research for the section.

The Section of Neurology supports inpatient and outpatient services
to a diverse population of 600,000 plus in the region.

The Section of Neurology is one of 14 sections of the Department
of Medicine. Neurology supports the Trauma Program, accredited
Stroke Unit, and a full spectrum of neurologic conditions in the
inpatient and outpatient arena in consultation and office practice
setting. Neurology, along with Neurosurgery and Interventional
Neuroradiology, will collaborate in the development of a Neurosciences
Service line.

Breakdown of Responsibilities:

1. Administration (15%)

Create direction and lead Section in all aspects of medical services,
medical education and clinical research. Based on community and
institutional needs, expand the Section to include physicians
across the spectrum of generalist to appropriate sub-specialty
expertise. Assure patient access to care, quality of medical
care and appropriate resource utilization. Collaborate with disciplines
of neurosurgery, radiology and other disciplines to vision and
establish the neurosciences service line.

2. Clinical Practice (60%)

Establish clinical practice; assume oversight for process and
responsiveness of Section members to inpatient consultation requests. 3.
Medical Education (15%)

Work closely with Program Directors of Internal Medicine, OB/GYN
and Family Medicine Residency Programs to develop curriculum for
residents and medical students in the neurosciences. Oversee
hospital-based Neurology Clinic with oversight of resident education
in this venue.

4. Clinical Research (10%)

Develop research appropriate to discipline with potential for
collaboration.
