Shriners Hospitals for Children in Shreveport, the world's firstShriners Hospital, seeks a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon for the45-bed hospital in northwest Louisiana. The position will jointwo board-certified pediatric orthopaedic surgeons, two hand surgeons,pediatric intensivist, rheumatologist, and a host of pediatricspecialty consultants in an active, well-established practicewith an 85-year history of orthopaedic excellence.
Specializing in orthopaedic conditions including scoliosis, cerebralpalsy, spina bifida, osteogenesis imperfecta, and limb deficiencies,the Shreveport Shriners Hospital provides over 650 surgeries eachyear. Over 1,000 children are admitted annually, with 13,000visits to a newly renovated and expanded outpatient clinic. Thehospital boasts the area's only Motion Analysis Lab for gait mappingand diagnosis, and features innovative adaptive therapy environments,in-house orthotics staff, and a seven-member Child Life team.
Located adjacent to LSU Health Sciences Center, the practice providesa collegiate atmosphere through resident training programs andeducation affiliations with multiple universities. Academic appointmentsare available based upon experience.
