Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital, a 529-bed teaching hospital locatedon a 341-acre campus in Ann Arbor is building a dedicated surgicalcritical care unit. The ideal candidate will be board certifiedin general surgery and critical care and have prior experiencein a dedicated surgical ICU.
The newly recruited physician will join Mary-Anne Purtill, M.D.(UCLA and U of Michigan trained) in our growing dedicated surgicalICU team, working exclusively from Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital,a Level II trauma center.
Our new 60,000 square foot surgical pavilion opened December 2006and offers you (according to our surgeons) the best operatingrooms in the state of Michigan. The 18 OR's include ceiling booms,flat panel screens and we have a daVinci robot. On October 14,2007, an additional 23-bed surgical ICU opened in our new 11-storytower. The new ICU rooms are state-of-the-art, offering a nursingstation, monitor and window to view two patients simultaneously. Ourposition will provide you with a teaching component as Saint JosephMercy Hospital has four categorical residents per PGY level andthree preliminary interns per year. Clinical research is alsoan option.
